Ocala 4-H Center, a modern camping and environmental complex, is located on Sellers Lake in the Ocala National Forest conveniently close to Juniper Spring and Alexander Springs.  Modern sleeping, dining and meeting facilities dot the picturesque setting.  The Ocala 4-H Center is open to the public year-round and may be reserved for a variety of uses.

Remember  Counselors and CIT’s should arrive  by 4:00 & bring $5. for dinner & breakfast the next day.  This is your opportunity to get to know each other, decorate your cabin, and form a team relationship. Campers plan to arrive between 10:30 & 11:00.  Pull up at the circle and a CIT will be there to meet you.   Campers remember to bring money or a check to “Fl 4-H Foundation” for a t-shirt ($10.), a hat ($10.) or other camp souvenirs, you can make these purchases one day, no other money will be necessary.  We will not have the phone in the main dining hall this year and will be used for emergencies and special cases only.  One final reminder if your child takes medicine be sure to enclose directions with the medicine in a plastic baggy to be turned in to the nurse at check-in.
All medicine will be kept by the nurse and distributed as needed.
We appreciate your support in providing a safe environment for all 4-H’ers.

The Barbara Eveland Memorial Camp Scholarship was established in honor and memory of Mrs. Eveland and her belief in the value of the 4-H camping program.  She was a faithful financial supporter of 4-H summer camp for years, and desired for that tradition to continue into the future.  She and her family have provided the resources in order that all those who meet the criteria can be assured of receiving scholarship support.  A brief history of the scholarship fund: Barbara Eveland began her involvement with 4-H as a parent and volunteer.  Vern Eveland, her husband, said, “Her 4-H experience began as a mother taking our older children to 4-H and being a volunteer helper.  Very soon the club lost its leader and was in danger of collapse.  Rather than risk losing the club, Barbara became the new leader, beginning what became a lifetime of leading and helping 4-Hers in our community and Lake County while also mothering 6 and caring for home and husband”.  Later she began giving camp scholarships to members of her former club.  She also personally answered thank you notes from children her scholarship fund sent to camp.  After her death, her husband Vern took on the role of answering the thank you notes.  Her legacy continues through the trust she, her husband, and now her children set up to reward hard working 4-Hers with camp scholarships.
