Hello, this is Hannah Smith and I am now an alumni for 4-H. Last year I put together the end of the year county slideshow and I was asked to do it again this year. Since I am no longer a member, I am in need of pictures. If you have pictures from county, district, state, and/or national events, that you would like in the slideshow, please send them to me by using the information on the bottom and by the given deadine. If you have too many pictures to send by email, you can make a CD and send it to me by mail (contact me to receive my address). I would prefer you to send them directly to me, however, if you are unable to, please call me and we can work something out. In addition, I would like dedicate a slide to each club in Lake County, therefore, I would greatly appreciate it if you could also send 2-3 good pictures of your club (with as many members as possible). Furthermore, I prefer digital pictures, however, if you have developed pictures, that's fine too. The more clearer and larger the pictures, the easier they will be for me to work with. Brower Youth Awards (Deadline: May 15 The Brower Youth Awards just launched the 2008 prize search for outstanding youth leaders.  We’re looking for individuals ages 13-22 with the power and persistence to create environmental change.  The Brower Youth Awards honors six young people annually with a $3000 cash award and weeklong trip to the San Francisco Bay Area.  During that week, award recipients will participate in a week of media and public outreach and be recognized at an awards ceremony attended by 900 members of the public.    http://www.broweryouthawards.org.

**Leaders when bringing project books to the office, please put them into a box, we can use the boxes to sort by project area.  Those volunteers that are judging the project books, you can pick them up after May 23^rd, books will be in the conference room, still need a few more judges.

  Memorial Weekend At Fechtel  Come join the FLORIDA TRAIL BLAZERS and friends on a work weekend. We will be replacing the horse corrals which we collected the money for in our Jan PIG ROAST. Thanks to the park Rangers and Staff. There is a new entrance to the park new gate, crushed concrete road,they are tearing down those ugly old metal buildings by the shower, planting new trees by our new paddocks. They also gave some$$$ for wood for the top of the paddocks. This is why we all need to work together. Please show your support to the parks you ride in. This nice place was neglected for many years and with the support of trail clubs and park management it is going to be a very nice place to camp and ride again.

  Scrapbook Photos Needed: Photos are still needed for the TLC scrapbook. If you have a great photo that you would like to share, please send it to Matthew Guy at theguys02@comcast.net. In particular, photos are needed from County Events Day, TLC Christmas Party, Lake County Fair , Central Florida Fair, any TLC Community Service, and horse shows. Any other event or club photos are also welcome. Thank you!

  Florida 4-H Award Portfolios for Scholarships and Award Trips, SR portfolios due to our office May 23^rd by 5 pm .  If letter of recommendation is needed, please inform Chris, the agent before hand.  Our office will get them to the University by the June 2^nd deadline.  Evaluation of the Portfolios will take place directly after the deadline and late submissions will not be accepted.
